What we hold to
Four things on every roof
Photos before prices
The roof is photographed before anyone talks about money, and you keep the photos whatever you decide.
Every line on its own
Tear-off, decking, underlayment, flashing and the permit each get a line on the price, so you can hold it up against anyone else's.
The honest answer first
When a repair will hold, you hear that before any replacement price. A new roof is priced only when the roof calls for one.
One contact, start to finish
The person who books your inspection is the person you call about the permit, the start date and the clean-up.
What we do, and don't
Where our job starts and stops
Your insurer decides a claim and your lender decides a loan. Here is what we take on, and what we leave to them and to you.
We do
- Roof replacement
- Roof repair
- Hurricane damage
- Insurance claim paperwork
- Pull the permit and book the inspections the work needs
We never
- Ask for a signature on the first visit
- Start work before the price is agreed in writing
- Waive, rebate or pay an insurance deductible
- Interpret your policy, or speak for you to your insurer, negotiate or settle a claim
Words on the truck
What the licences and programs mean
Words you will see on roofers' trucks and websites: what each one means for you, and what to ask before you sign.
Certified roofing contractor
In Florida a certified roofing contractor holds a state licence, issued by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, that is good anywhere in the state. Ask for the number and look it up on the state's licence search before anyone starts work.
Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance
The county's product approval for the High Velocity Hurricane Zone. Tiles, panels, underlayments and fasteners each need one, and it sets exactly how the product must be installed. The approval numbers belong on your permit application.
Uniform mitigation inspection
A short inspection on the state's standard form, done by a licensed inspector after a new roof. It records how the roof covering, the deck and the roof-to-wall connections resist wind, and insurers use it to rate the wind part of a policy.
